Re: Ashton under Hill Go-Kart Race – 1st January 2022
We’re writing to invite you to join us at Ashton Soapbox Races on 1st January 2022. We’re returning after a successful event in 2020 to raise money to help the Leaver family whose daughter, Nicola, is undergoing cancer treatment.
The other reason we’re writing is to let you know that we will be managing traffic on Elmley Road from 9.00am until about 1.00pm on the day of the races. We will control the traffic from Hillside to opposite The Star Inn. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this will cause, but it’s the best way to keep the event safe for everyone.
We appreciate that you may need to get out during those times, so, if possible, please park outside the controlled areas so you can walk to your cars in the morning. We also appreciate that may not be an option for some, so we will try and let any cars though as quickly as possible when it’s safe to do so.
If you normally park your car on Elmley Road within the controlled section, we would be grateful if you could please park outside the area on the day of the races. This would help us to keep your car and our competitors safe.
During the event, we’ll be providing refreshments and the pub will be open, so please join us to support Nicola and her family – we would love to see you there.
