Known as Ashton by the locals, our village is a lively mix of all age groups. We have First and Middle schools, a Playgroup, baby/toddler group and after school club. We have a very forward thinking and adventurous WI and a Friends and Neighbours group. Ashton residents are a sporty bunch with cycling, walking and running groups, cricket and football clubs. The village has two churches, both with busy itineraries. Our village pub, The Star, is in the heart of the village. We have an active and approachable Parish Council and a Social Centre; both work hard on behalf of the village.

There is always something going on in Ashton! We hold a very popular Open Gardens weekend every June; a biennial Fete and Produce Show and annual Christmas Fair. We are delighted to have recently reformed amateur dramatic company, The Ashton Players, in the village. We hold numerous fundraising events including an annual (and fabulous!) Run Around Supper and the ever popular cricket club Annual Village Evening. We also regularly host Shindig performances in the Village Hall.
