Covid support for the village
As you are aware, the spread of Covid 19 now starting to impact daily life for many, and if the news reports are correct will be significantly impacting vulnerable and older people. There are many kind and supportive people in the village wondering how they can help. We have discussed how we can rally this willingness to help. You may have read about the #ViralKindness initiative which offers support to friends and neighbours who may be in self isolation. This could mean collecting shopping, posting mail or other help (see the flyer/postcard attached).
With the possibility of our ‘vulnerable and over 70s’ residents soon being asked to self-isolate, we would like offer the same support and are looking for volunteers.
Volunteering would entail delivering some flyers to houses in your designated area, then being available to help if contacted.
Obviously the number of homes you might be able to support will be entirely up to you and your own commitments.
If you are a resident of Ashton and could help, please let us know by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 07770942144 /01386 881070 or 07976 906653.
If you are a resident of Ashton in need of support, please also email us and we will do our best to link you with a volunteer.
We will post further information once we have more details. Please spread the word as not everyone uses Facebook, Website or email, or is around to look at noticeboards.
Thank you all very much in anticipation. Also if you have any other ideas or suggestions we would be happy to consider if we can support.
