Ashton Cricket club needs your support! The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the club as it has meant putting the 2020 season on complete hold.
Until very recently, we were unable to practice or play cricket at all. Of equal importance is the fact that we have had no money coming in to cover our ongoing costs.
Cricket activity has finally started to return in a limited way for a much-shortened season. But we need to take action to try to cover some of our lost income for the 2020 season. We estimate the loss to be around £8,000.
We need to close as much of this gap as we can to ensure we are in a good position to carry on as a club into next season.
We have set up a Crowdfunder page with the aim of raising at least £4,000 over the next 8 weeks. If we are successful in hitting this target, the great news is that we will be eligible to receive up to £2,000 in additional funding from Sport England.
We need the support of club members past and present and the local community in general. There are a variety of ways people can help us achieve our target, including purchasing a range of “rewards” which vary from a Sunday lunch at The Star to a portrait of your favourite pet. The rewards have been kindly donated by people connected with the Club. If you have ideas for additional rewards you could offer to help our cause, please get in touch as we are free to add more items during the campaign.
As a social member, you can also buy vouchers for use against future bar purchases at the Club.
Please go to the Crowdfunder page via the link below, read more about our campaign and help us reach our target, if your circumstances allow you to.
