Evesham Walking Festival
Village Centre
Evesham’s first Walking Festival will be taking place across the Vale and Cotswold Edge in the first week of July. 15 walks have been planned by Evesham Rambling Club. 3 of these walks are on and around Bredon Hill: Wednesday 3rd July “In summer time on Bredon”-meet 9:30 am at Overbury village centre, GL20 7NR for a 3 1/2 hour, 5.8 mile, stroll across the southern face of Bredon Hill. The theme of this walk is based on verses from “A Shropshire Lad” by Worcestershire poet, AE Housman.
In the afternoon, starting at 2.00 p.m. a three-hour walk, covering 5.4 miles, explores Overbury, Kemerton Lakes and Conderton.
The next day, Thursday 4th July, a 6 mile walk “The Bredon Hill Bash”, leaves the Queen Elizabeth Inn, Elmley Castle, at 6.00 p.m. for a summer’s evening ascent of this “magic” hill. We hope to be back in time for a drink and a snack at the pub.
Most of the other walks are within easy striking distance of Ashton. Full details are on our website www.eveshamramblingclub.org.uk/walkfest
