Our new litter picking team
Last saturday our new litter team had their first ‘litter pick’. The team were equipped with high viz jackets, litter pickers, gloves & bags, all supplied by Wychavon as part of their ‘Adopt a Street’ (or in our case, village!) scheme. David Worley has kindly taken on the role of coordinator and reported that the team managed a reasonable ‘haul’ with much of the litter centred around the playing fields area and the Groaten. Waste included numerous drink cans and plastic from bottles and bags. A heavy duty bumper was retrieved from the Groaten. The garage block in Cornfield Way also had a collection of household waste. The team found that the area around the First School was exceptionally clean, so well done to them! David is aiming to run another session later in the year. Thank you very much to the team for giving their time on a Saturday. (Pictured below: Bridget, Louise, Lennox and Malcolm)
