Soapbox race update

Morning everyone. Soapbox Race organisers wanted to clarify couple of things re the event:

1. Entries
There’s been a bit of confusion regarding the cost for entering.

Entry fees are £25 per kart. Karts with a driver that is under 16 on 1st January 2020 are £10 per kart.

For all of your pushers, you’ll have to pay £10 per head (£5 for under 16s). We’ll collect the money for your pushers on the day. You can have up to four people on your team (rider plus 3 pushers). Pushers can also travel in the kart.

There will be two race categories; under 16s & 16 and over. This is based on the age of the kart driver on 1st January 2020. There will also be a best fancy-dress competition and a best built kart award.

A physical kart can only be used once in each competition – i.e. the same kart can be used for one entry in the under 16 years competition and one entry in the 16 years and over category, but not for more than this.

2. Scrutineering
If anyone would like to check whether their kart complies with the rules and regulations, please contact one of our scrutineers below who will be happy to discuss this with you and view your kart before the big day:
