Village stamp recycling service
Afternoon all. I am sure many of you know this already, but for newcomers to the village, there is a stamp recycling service (all the year round) at St Barbara’s Church and other churches in our Parish. Ours is organised by Nettie Mantle, who says:
“The stamps don’t need to be removed from their envelopes, just need to have a half centimetre border and be undamaged. Any remnants of glue can cause damage to other stamps.
The stamps can be from all countries.
Stamps can be left in the box on the table straight in front of the church door, or next to it on the table, or even in the porch if people would prefer. They would be picked up from there by the daily locking person.
During 2019 we sent 6.5 kilos, which is a lot of stamps. We have been regular collectors for 5 years.”
Just to add that the church will be opening during daylight hours, which at this time of year means mid-afternoon closing.
